Burkhard Bilger has been a writer for the New Yorker since 2001.His work has also appeared in The Atlantic Monthly,Harper's, the New York times, the New York Times book review, and numerous other publications, and has been anthologized in “The Best American Science and Nature Writing,” “Best Food Writing,” and “The Best American Sports Writing.

With all of this background information, it's safe to say yes we should place our trust in him. He has worked with other companies including some big corporations. Getting a job like that takes tons of trust and skill.It seems that he has a general background understanding in science.
